LGBT axis · Frei Caneca + Av Paulista

Shopping Frei Caneca, LGBTQI+ hub of Consolação, is a 'de facto gay-friendly' commercial reference. 20+ queer venues around: The Week, Bofetada, Aura, A Lôca. Direct Av Paulista connection — Pride march historic route since 1997.

Community and services

São Paulo has Brazil's densest LGBT infrastructure. APOGLBT (Parade Association) since 1997. Centro de Cidadania LGBTI+ (municipal/state) offers psychosocial, legal services. ABIA (1986) historic HIV/AIDS org. Health: CRT-DST/Aids national HIV reference, free PrEP for residents, trans clinic. SUS (Brazilian public health) universal and free even for tourists. Casa 1 (Bela Vista) LGBT cultural center and shelter.
