Greenland

Greenland is an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark with its own robust LGBTQI+ framework. Decriminalization inherited from Danish law in 1933, age of consent equalized in 1977. Civil unions adopted on 1 July 1996 (mirroring Denmark's 1989 law). Own marriage equality approved by the Inatsisartut (Greenlandic parliament) and effective from 1 April 2016, with joint adoption from 1 July 2016. May 2024 Equal Treatment and Anti-Discrimination Law (effective 1 July 2024) covers sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression and sex characteristics — one of the most recent and comprehensive frameworks in the Arctic. Nuuk Pride since 2010 (first march on 15 May 2010), small but established in the capital.

Air access via Reykjavik (Iceland) or Copenhagen. Very expensive country: high budgets due to logistical isolation.
