Liechtenstein decriminalized homosexuality in 1989 — the reform repealed §§129-130 of the criminal code. Registered partnership since 2011, joint adoption rights since June 1, 2023 and marriage equality effective January 1, 2025. Since April 1, 2016 anti-bias and incitement-to-hatred provisions on SO grounds have been on the books (up to two years' imprisonment). Legal gender change recognition and conversion therapy ban still pending. 2017 Liechtensteiner Vaterland poll: 69% support for marriage equality.
