Pakistan
Same-sex relations are criminalized under Article 377 of the Pakistan Penal Code (enacted 1860, in force since 1862), with life imprisonment or 2 to 10 years' imprisonment plus fines. The Hudood Ordinances (1979) theoretically allow capital punishment under Sharia, though without enforcement since 1985. There is no legal recognition of same-sex unions. We recommend consulting official sources before planning any travel.
