Sitges' LGBTQI+ calendar runs on four pillars: Carnival (Feb-Mar) with the Rua de la Disbauxa and Rua de l'Extermini parades; Sitges Pride (June); Bears Sitges Week (early September); and the Circuit Barcelona orbit in August. Wikipedia lists them as "key gay events".
Sitges doesn't have an administrative gay neighbourhood like Chueca or Gaixample — it's a small town where the LGBTQI+ scene occupies the whole historic centre. The actual axis is Carrer Sant Bonaventura and Plaça de la Indústria.

The historic centre concentrates practically all of Sitges' LGBTQI+ scene. Carrer Sant Bonaventura and Plaça de la Indústria work as the bar axes; around them sit boutique hotels, restaurants and bookshops. Everything walkable: from first bar to last gay beach <15 min on foot.
About 2 km of promenade linking the central beaches with the historic centre. Terraces, sea-view hotels (Calípolis), mixed tourist-resident crowd. Not a declared gay zone but 100% couple-friendly without any friction.
Marina area east of the old town. Platja dels Balmins is an official nudist beach with mixed family-gay crowd, calmer vibe than L'Home Mort. Seafood restaurants, residential feel.
Fishing village 6 km north (3 stops on R2). Small beach with iconic white huts and Gaudí's Bodega Güell (not open to the public). Half-day trip from Sitges, no LGBT scene of its own.

May-June and September are the sweet spot: pleasant temperatures, usable sea, lively but not saturated. July-August are the tourist peak — Sitges multiplies population 5-8x. Carnival (Feb-Mar) and Bears Sitges Week (early Sep) are specific LGBT windows. Winter outside Carnival is very quiet.
Sitges is bilingual Catalan-Spanish like all Catalonia. Hotels, bars and restaurants serve in Spanish and English without issue. Catalan predominates in official signage and local commerce. Not needed for tourism.
Cards work universally in bars, restaurants, taxis and shops. Bizum (instant transfer) is the local system but needs a Spanish account. Tips not mandatory (5-10% in restaurants if experience was good). Plenty of ATMs in the centre.
From Barcelona: Rodalies R2 Sud train (Barcelona-Sants / Passeig de Gràcia → Sitges) every 20-30 minutes, ~35-minute journey, single ticket ~€4.60. BCN El Prat airport: direct R2 Sud (~45 min) or taxi/Uber (~30 min). Once in Sitges, the centre and central beaches are entirely walkable.
Three references: Hotel Liberty (gay-owned, in the old town), Parrots Sitges Hotel (from the gay Parrots group, steps from Plaça de la Indústria) and MiM Sitges Meliá Collection (luxury boutique with rooftop pool, owned by Messi). Also: Hotel Medium Romàntic (19th-century villas with garden) and Calípolis (4★ on the seafront). Any stay in the old town puts you 5 min from the bar strip. Book 3+ months ahead for Carnival, Bears Sitges Week and Circuit Barcelona.
