Las Vegas's gay scene has its own logic: it isn't on the Strip but in the Fruit Loop, a cluster of bars on Paradise Road a couple of kilometres east. The flagship is Piranha, the city's biggest gay club (several rooms, patio, drag and gogos). Around it, neighbourhood bars like QUADZ (video bar), The Garage or Fun Hog Ranch.

What makes Vegas nightlife unique: there's no legal closing time, so many of these bars open 24 hours, every day. And while the Strip's mega-clubs are mixed, they're very gay-welcoming and many big shows have a strong queer presence.

Las Vegas PRIDE, run by the Southern Nevada Association of PRIDE, is held in October (in June the desert tops 40 °C). It has a format that's unusual in the US: a night parade through Downtown, around the Fremont Street area —on Friday 9 October 2026—, and a festival at Desert Breeze Events Center on Saturday 17 October, with concerts, drag and food stalls.

Beyond Pride, Las Vegas keeps LGBTQI+ nightlife and entertainment going year-round in the Fruit Loop and in the Strip's shows.

Three zones shape the trip. The Fruit Loop (Paradise Road) is the gay heart: bars and clubs a couple of kilometres east of the Strip. The Strip (South Las Vegas Blvd) is where you stay and where the resorts, shows and mega-clubs are —fun fact: it's not in the City of Las Vegas but in Paradise—. And Downtown / Fremont Street is classic, retro Vegas, where the Pride night parade runs, next to the creative Arts District (18b).

Everything is close by car/rideshare; without a car you get around the Strip on foot, by monorail or on the Deuce bus.

The community anchor is The LGBTQ+ Center of Southern Nevada (The Center), with programs, support and events. For sexual health, CAN Community Health (formerly Huntridge Family Clinic, at 1820 E Sahara Ave) is the LGBTQI+ reference: PrEP, PEP (nPEP), rapid HIV/STI testing and trans care, with walk-ins. The Southern Nevada Health District also offers HIV/STI testing.

Legal framework: Nevada was the first state to enshrine marriage equality in its constitution (2020), with SO/GI anti-discrimination protections and a ban on conversion therapy for minors. Emergency: 911. The US has no universal healthcare: travel insurance is essential for non-residents.
